In a press release issued yesterday, the FCC announced that it is “reigniting” the 5G Fund for Rural America using the Commission’s new and improved broadband coverage maps. Phase I of the fund will use a multi-round reverse auction to distribute up to $9 billion to support voice and 5G mobile broadband service. Stay tuned for a Public Notice on the matter.
