Legislature: 10-2-26

Data centers and AI on the legislative agenda this week as the Pennsylvania General Assembly winds down for the year. On the AI front, the House passed HB 1925 which, among other things, requires an individual human assessment of patients where AI is being used by clinicians and insurers, and HB2534 (reported out of the House Communications and Technology Committee) which would give consumers the ability to verify what has been generated by AI. On data centers, HB 2674 was reported out of the House Consumer Protection, Technology and Utilities Committee and the bill prohibits data centers from obtaining public utility status and being able to preempt local zoning ordinances.
