Governor Shapiro’s budget address is scheduled for March 7th and the Senate Appropriations Committee has released its budget hearing schedule. Of particular note for those keeping an eye on the fiscal condition of the Commonwealth is the hearing for Pennsylvania’s Independent Fiscal Office which is slated for March 20th. Speaking of the IFO, it recently released its comparison of tax impacts in all 50 states; concluding that Pennsylvanians still pay more than most Americans. State and local tax burden for us is a ratio of 10.08 percent of taxes to income, putting PA at 21st highest in the country.
