At its Public Meeting yesterday, the PA PUC voted 3-2 (Commissioners Yanora and Coleman dissenting) in favor of a Joint Motion of Vice Chairman DeFrank and Commissioner Zerfuss partially supporting a petition by the Office of Consumer Advocate and others requesting separate reporting by utilities to the Commission on funding received through the federal IIJA program. Specifically, the Joint Motion would require any jurisdictional utility which receives IIJA funding to report that amount by April 30th for the preceding year and provide testimony as to the accounting treatment of grant money related to a voluntary change in rates under Section 1308 of the Public Utility Code.
