Q Link Wireless pleaded guilty to defrauding the Lifeline program and is now on the hook for almost $110 million in restitution to the FCC. As outlined in yesterday’s news release from the Commission, Q Link CEO Issa Asad has been at this fraudulent activity since 2012; cheating the program by making repeated false claims for reimbursement and deceiving the FCC about its compliance with program rules. Sentencing for Assad is scheduled for January 15, 2025.
