In an effort led by the NTCA, the PTA joined a group of RLEC coalitions, consortia, and other state associations in filing an ex parte letter with the FCC raising concerns with the Commission’s Notice of Proposed Rulemaking regarding implementation of Next Generation 911 at PS Docket No. 21-479. The filing proposes implementation of the “RLEC Alternative Proposal” which, among other things, addresses the routing of 911 calls and the financial responsibility associated with routing to points of interconnection chosen unilaterally by a NG911 provider.
