The Pennsylvania Broadband Development Authority met yesterday with its new Executive Director in place (Brandon Carson) and addressed a variety of issues including the subcommittee structure for the authority. Under the authority’s governing statute, the subcommittees are designed to provide (among other things) industry perspectives as the authority undertakes its critical work on directing federal dollars for broadband deployment. As presented by Carson, the initial thoughts are that the subcommittees could be broken down into four topic areas: data/mapping, technical, workforce/supply chain, and outreach/education/digital literacy. Future meeting dates for the authority are scheduled for August 11, 2022, and November 17, 2022.
