The reauthorization of Pennsylvania’s One Call law was front and center on the legislative agenda this week as one bill from each chamber was passed and sent to the other side of the building for consideration. House Bill 2198 was passed by its originating chamber by a vote of 120-82 on Wednesday and now resides in the Senate Consumer Protection & Professional Licensure Committee. Senate Bill 1237 passed the Senate (48-0) on Tuesday and is to be considered by the House Consumer Protection, Technology and Utilities Committee. Both chambers will have to reconcile any remaining changes in the bills with only a few session days left before the end of this two-year session.
