On May 23rd, the House Consumer Protection, Technology and Utilities Committee will hold a public hearing on Representative Ryan Bizzarro’s HB 129, legislation which amends the PBDA enabling legislation, Act 96 of 2021. Specifically, the bill authorizes the Department of Community and Economic Development and the Department of General Services to contract for broadband deployment utilizing state telecommunications assets and restricting any other state agency from entering into contracts to provide service or facilitating any third parties to provide broadband service.
