Last week, the House Transportation Committee unanimously approved Representative Doyle Heffley’s bill providing for potential cost sharing agreements between ILECs and PaDOT, when infrastructure needs to be moved for road and bridge projects. House Bill 1658 was subsequently referred to the House Rules Committee for its consideration and hopes are that the full House will vote on the legislation (which could free-up revenues for ILECs to use in broadband deployment) when it returns in September.
