Congress: 6-20-25

With the lone D vote coming from Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman, former congressional staffer Olivia Trusty was confirmed to fill a vacant seat at the FCC this week. Members of the Senate Democratic Caucus followed the lead of Senate Commerce Committee ranking member Maria Cantwell (D-WA) who expressed concerns about President Trump’s firing of individuals at other federal agencies such as the Federal Trade Commission and the failure to follow traditional protocol by putting a Democratic nominee up for a vote at the same time as Trusty.
