To the applause of many in the business community, new Governor Josh Shapiro signed an executive order designed to make it easier for Pennsylvania businesses to continue doing business in the state. Pennsylvania Chamber President Luke Bernstein was one of those optimistic about the initiative as a “first step” in the process of transforming the commonwealth into a more business-friendly state. Bernstein offered that permitting reform and regulatory reform legislation, (See related story in Legislature Section), needs to be part of a comprehensive strategy of the legislature and the Governor as well as a quicker reduction in the Corporate Net Income Tax rate.
