Yesterday’s PermitConnectPA conference featured a presentation from Governo Josh Shapiro and several break-out sessions focusing on challenges which public utilities (and others) have with state, federal, and local permitting. PTA served on the broadband panel and offered DEP permitting over navigable waterways, time/costs associated with RR crossings and the benefits of allowing for cost sharing between RLECs and Pa DOT during facility relocation for road and bridge projects as areas to explore. The proposed challenges/solutions presented at the conference will be shared with the Governor’s office for consideration. Stay tuned.
