Earlier this week, President Trump put the kibosh to the pending Broadcom-Qualcomm transaction, noting that there was “credible evidence” that the union may provide an environment that would “impair the national security of the United States.” On Wednesday, Broadcom complied with the Presidential directive, and said that it had withdrawn its $117 billion offer to buy Qualcomm. According to one source, the deal ranks fourth all-time in the value of withdrawn transactions.
