Bank impersonation scams were firmly in the cross hairs of the FCC this week in the form of a $4.5 million fine levied against Voxbeam Telecommunications. The Commission found the entity apparently liable for allowing calls from a foreign provider not allowed to transit traffic onto U.S. networks. As a result, financial impersonation calls were coming through from Axfone, which is not listed in the Commission’s Robocall Mitigation Database.
