Legislative – 6-16-23

Early in the week the House Consumer Protection, Technology, and Utilities Committee brought representatives from the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission in for an informational meeting to discuss a variety of issues including rate-setting processes, rail safety enforcement, cyber security and One Call. In response to questions on cyber, Chairman Gladys Dutrieuille offered that there needs to be a balance between legislating solutions and other options and solicited the committee’s input on current regulations addressing the matter and whether legislation may be needed. Regarding One Call, Committee Chairman Rob Matzie said that the committee will address Chapter 14 this session.
