Prevailing wage legislation designed to have technicians working on BEAD projects paid at the appropriate level dropped in the Senate this week in the form of Senate Bill 1042. Sponsored by Senator Gene Yaw (R-Bradford), the bill has been referred to the Senate Labor and Industry Committee for its consideration. Like its counterpart in the House, the Senate version establishes a teledata worker classification which will reduce the costs associated with BEAD projects.
