The war of words surrounding the FirstNet project continued this week as authority board members responded to characterizations from Verizon about the former’s capabilities. An article in TRDaily highlights a teleconference held by the National Public Safety Telecommunications Council during which FirstNet board members Kevin McGinnis and Tom Sorley responded to VZ claims that it has the only public safety grade LTE system by saying that the claim “simply is not true.” A VZ spokesman stuck to the company guns and offered that many public safety agencies have already chosen VZ for their purposes.
