Verizon and Corning announced an agreement this week which will have the fiber optic cable maker supply more than 80 million miles of product from 2027 to 2032. A press release on the matter offered that the multi-use fiber deployment will accelerate deployment to not only homes and businesses but also help to construct a national long-haul backbone “required by AI hyperscalers.”
