On Tuesday the Senate Consumer Protection and Professional Licensure Committee took steps to fill two long-empty seats on the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission and re-up John Coleman who has served on the Commission since 2010. The new names are Katie Zerfuss who currently serves as a Deputy Secretary for Legislative Affairs in the Wolf Administration and has served in a variety of capacities in legislative affairs for the Departments of Transportation, Agriculture, Revenue and as Executive Director of the House Finance Committee and Steve DeFrank, a lobbyist with Buchanan Ingersoll and former Chief of Staff for Senator Lisa Boscola. The committee voted unanimously to report the nominees to the full Senate who, on Wednesday, officially confirmed all three, bringing the Commission to its full complement of five members.
